š„ Lights, Camera... AI?

In todayās email:
š„ AI is taking over video productionāskip the film crew and let AI handle everything from scripts to editing.
š Is Google search dying? AI search referrals are skyrocketing, and people are loving the results.
š¬ Thinking about running an AI chatbot on your laptop? Spoiler: Itās not as fun as it sounds.

š„ Filmmaking Without Filming?

Tired of spending hours (or days) making videos? AI video generators have your back! These nifty tools are changing the game, letting you create high-quality videos fastāwithout a film crew, expensive equipment, or endless editing. By 2025, AI-generated videos are everywhere, and businesses are loving them.
Why? Because:
They save time ā AI writes scripts, picks visuals, and edits like a pro.
They cut costs ā No need to hire actors or rent cameras.
They personalize content ā Custom avatars and voices make each video unique.
They scale like crazy ā Need 50 videos? AIās got it covered.
Take JoggAI, for exampleāit creates hyper-realistic avatars in 200+ languages, writes scripts, and generates videos at lightning speed. Businesses will save up to 30% on costs and boost engagement by 45%.
Of course, AI video still has some quirks. Deepfakes? Ethical debates? Yep, theyāre part of the ride. But with AI advancing fast (hello, AR/VR integration!), the future of video looks insanely cool.
š No More Googling?

Say goodbye to Googleās classic āten blue links.ā Instead of clicking through endless search results pages, people are letting AI chatbots do the legwork, and the shift is happening fast.
According to Adobe, AI search referrals shot up 1,300% last holiday season, and on Cyber Monday, they spiked 1,950%! But the real kicker are AI-referred users:
Stay on websites 8% longer
Browse 12% more pages
Are 23% less likely to bounce
Basically, AI search might be better at sending people to actually useful pages. Of course, it hasnāt been all smooth sailingāGoogleās AI once suggested eating small rocks (yum?), and startup Perplexity got called out for alleged plagiarism. Meanwhile, OpenAI is playing it safe with its AI search, keeping ads out (for now) to avoid creeping people out.
People are flocking to AI search for shopping, research, and recommendations, proving traditional search might finally be on its last legs. If AI can avoid the same pitfalls (SEO spam, ad overload, total nonsense answers), it just might be the future.
š¬ Running AI Chatbots at Home

So, you wanna run an AI chatbot on your laptop? Cool ideaātoo bad it kinda sucks. š¬
A new model called DeepSeek-R1 had people hyped about running AI locally, but reality hit hard. PCWorldās Matthew S. Smith tested it for you and in his experience it is slow, clunky, and just not worth the trouble. Hereās why:
The Big Issues
Small LLMs are dumb ā Ask a simple question, get a weird, rambling answer. Coding? Forget it.
Needs a ton of RAM ā Even "lightweight" models hog memory like a browser with 100 open tabs.
Painfully slow ā Expect responses at a snailās pace, even on high-end laptops.
Software is meh ā Tools like LM Studio and Ollama exist, but theyāre clunky compared to ChatGPT.
Even if you upgrade your laptop to the max, youāll still hit roadblocks. Fancy GPUs and 128GB of RAM? Nice try. The software still lags behind cloud-based AI like GPT-4.5 or Claude 3.7 Sonnet.
Running AI locally is a fun experiment, but if you actually want useful AI, stick with the online versions. Maybe one day itāll be better. But today? Yeahā¦ donāt bother.
